Everything physical, and where it is right now.
Inventory & Assets keeps the laptop someone holds and the parts you use up in one register, by location. Every receipt, transfer, sale and use is a logged movement, so the level on screen is the sum of what actually happened.

Stock value and cost of goods sold
Shown in Finances to people with the finance permission.
The stock level is a record of movements, not a number someone typed.
Stock changes in one place, through one writer, and every change says what moved it: a receipt, a transfer, a sale from a won deal, or use on a job.
- Received at Depot+50
- Transfer Depot to Van 28 moved
- Used on job FIT-14-2
Every change is a movement with a reason; nothing is typed over.
Stock by location
Each item carries a level per location and a reorder point. A transfer moves it from one place to another as one movement, and a sale cannot take more than is there.
Cable ties x30 · Ceiling panels x20
Numbered when it is sent; received stock is booked in at a location.
Reorders as purchase orders
Suggested reorders are worked out from the levels and grouped by vendor into draft purchase orders. Sending numbers them; receiving books the stock in at a location.
What a job used is booked to the job and its project.
Items used on a task
Attach items to a task from its panel and record what the job used. The use is booked to that task and its project, so the job's materials are on the job.
A low-stock alert to the owner
When a level drops below its reorder point, the item's owner is told once for that dip, not every time someone looks.
Reserved by a deal, deducted on the win
A CRM opportunity can reserve stock. Win it and the reservation becomes a sale; lose it and the stock is released.
Stock that the rest of the workspace moves.
The ones people ask first.
Does it connect to our till or shop system?
Can we turn stock tracking off and keep the asset register?
Put every item where it actually is.
Add Inventory & Assets, import your list from a CSV, and set a reorder point on the items you never want to run out of.
