Inventory & Assets
One register for the things you keep and the stock you sell or use up, by location, with purchase orders.
Inventory & Assets (it used to be called the Ledger) holds two kinds of thing: assets someone keeps (with a holder, vendor, project, warranty and service reminders, and a Mine view) and stock you sell or use up. It lives under Finances, Inventory; the old Assets address still opens it.
Stock
- Stock is kept per location: a warehouse, a store, a van or a site.
- Every change is a movement (a receipt, a sale, job usage, a transfer or an adjustment), with who made it and when.
- Set a reorder point and the item's owner gets one bell each time it runs low.
- Create purchase orders drafts one order per vendor from the suggested reorders. Send numbers it (PO-0001 and so on); Receive books the stock in at a location.
- Import a CSV: Name is required; SKU, Type, Unit, Unit cost, Price, Reorder point, Reorder qty, Location and Qty are optional. Up to 512 KB or 2,000 rows. A SKU that already exists is updated.
Where else it shows
- On a task, the Items panel attaches stock; Use records job usage.
- In the CRM you can hold stock on an opportunity. A won deal takes it out of stock, a lost one releases it, and the account lists what it bought.
- Stock value and cost of goods appear under Finances for people who can view finances.
- Ask Ava what is running low or what to reorder.
People who manage extensions can switch stock tracking off in its settings. Stock rows are kept and the page becomes the asset register again.
Note
This applies where your workspace has the new organization tools switched on. Where they are off, everything works as it did before.
