Ava Dossiers
Write, upload or say a plan; Ava turns it into goals, projects, milestones and tasks you review before anything is made.
A dossier is a plan and the record of what it made. Ava reads the workspace you already have, so it links to work that exists instead of making it twice.
Four ways to start
- Write it in your own words.
- Start from a template: three per preset (Monthly team plan plus two fitted to how you work, such as Product launch and Fundraise for Startups & SaaS, or Job kickoff and Crew ramp-up for Field & Trades), plus your workspace's own.
- Upload a document into a project: every task with its subitems, checklist, assignees, column, due date or milestone and priority.
- Talk: push to talk, and the audio is deleted after transcription unless your workspace keeps audio.
Every field says where it came from: Stated (you said it), Inferred (Navalo filled it in from the workspace, and says from what) or Needs input.
Preview, apply, undo
- Nothing is created until you press Apply on the preview. Untick any change to apply only part of it.
- Existing work is linked, never duplicated.
- A change outside your units goes to that unit's head as a request they accept, adjust (the date) or decline.
- Undo takes an applied preview back for 7 days, unless something it made has been changed since. Then nothing is undone and it says what changed.
Does it fit?
The feasibility check counts people and weekdays, minus approved time off and the work already on them. It never shows one person's hours. When the plan does not fit, it offers a later date, more people or a cut.
Living dossiers
- Each day Navalo reads every dossier against the work. A milestone past its date or an outcome off track puts it in Needs attention on Home.
- Re-plan (one Ava call) proposes changes only when a dossier drifts.
- A newer upload of the same document proposes only what changed and flags what it no longer mentions. Nothing is deleted.
- Autopilot and the meeting updater can draft a dossier for review. It goes to the head of the highest unit involved (or the goal's owner) only. Applying small changes on their own is off by default; people who manage members can turn it on in the Dossiers settings.
Where to find it
There is no navigation tab. Dossiers open from a project's Toolbox tab (Dossiers and plan uploads), from Strategy and goal pages, from Ava (ask it to list, check or draft one), from Needs attention on Home, and on the phone (view and approve).
Plans and AI credits
Dossiers, templates, the preview, apply, partial apply, undo, uploads, talking and Ava drafting come with the Team plan. Autopilot drafts and applying small changes on their own come with Business. A draft written from your own words without AI works on every plan. Ava's drafting uses your workspace's AI credits.
This applies where your workspace has the latest organization tools switched on. Where they are off, everything works as it did before.
