Financial models: P&L, cash flow and DCF
Models saved as live grids, documents and decks that refresh from your records.
Finances > Overview > Models builds three models (on the Business plan):
- P&L for any period: a month, a quarter, a year or to date.
- Cash flow, direct and indirect. Equipment counts as investing; financing is only what you enter.
- DCF: a free cash flow forecast from up to 24 months of history or stated assumptions, a discount rate or WACC, a terminal value by growth or an exit multiple, NPV and a sensitivity table.
Saving and refreshing
- Save a model as a live grid (Model, Assumptions and Data tabs with real formulas, NPV included), a Pages document and a deck, in any combination.
- Refresh rewrites the Data tab, never your Assumptions, and rebuilds the document and deck.
- Commentary is one AI draft per press, kept until the figures change. A paragraph naming a figure that is not in the model is dropped. It uses your workspace's AI credits.
- Saved copies leave labour cost out so they can be shared. A private project's money is never included, only counted.
Note
This applies where your workspace has the latest organization tools switched on. Where they are off, everything works as it did before.
