Structures: role boxes that assign, and decoration boxes

Optionally give a role to the people in its box on publish, and draw boxes that publishing skips.

The map's tools are one row, a box's details sit in the right column, and sub-organizations are drawn on the map: drag one onto a division or department, or use Attach under....

Assigning a role from its box

A box linked to a role has a checkbox, off by default: Assign this role to the people in the box on publish. When it is on:

  1. 1Publishing asks you to confirm before anything changes.
  2. 2Edit lists each person, so you can check them and untick anyone.
  3. 3You are warned that it overrides the person's current role. Where people hold roles in other maps of the organization you are told, and can choose Add to their roles instead of Replace, person by person.
  4. 4Right after applying, you can undo it.

Nothing above your own standing is given, and nobody is made an owner. Linking a box to a role without the checkbox still assigns nothing.

Outside organization (decoration)

Mark a box Outside organization (decoration) for things like a parent company or a client. It stays on the drawing and publishing skips it.

Note

This applies where your workspace has the new organization tools switched on. Where they are off, everything works as it did before.
