Choosing a preset
The eight presets and Something else, what each one installs, and what every workspace gets anyway.
When you set up a workspace, Navalo asks how you work and offers eight presets plus Something else. Each card shows its tagline, what you get and the plan each extension needs. You can change your mind later in Org settings.
| Preset | Tagline |
|---|---|
| Startups & SaaS | Ship faster. Hear your customers louder. |
| Agencies & Studios | Every client, every hour, every approval. One place. |
| IT & Managed Services | Tickets, alerts and SLAs that run themselves. |
| Government & Public Sector | Audit-ready from day one. |
| Professional Services | Client work, compliance and billing in one secure workspace. |
| Engineering & R&D | From requirement to test, every decision traceable. |
| Field & Trades | The job site in your pocket, even offline. |
| Retail & Multi-Location | Every location, on the same page. |
| Something else | The core workspace. Add what you need later. |
What a preset installs
A preset installs its own list of extensions plus the core set every workspace shares: Announcements, Forms, Polls & Surveys, Kudos, Standups, Approvals, Checklists & SOPs, Recurring Tasks, Decision Log, Timeline, Hands-On Scheduling, Notes, Corkboard, Handbook, Policy Library, Structures, Navalo Signatures, Conversation Stats and Budgets. Something else installs the core set only.
Some things are part of every workspace and are not extensions at all: reminders (/remind in chat), goals (Strategy), workload (Organization, Capacity), team availability (Organization, People), AI connections (Settings) and the integrations hub (CRM, Setup).
Labels and navigation
- A preset can rename your levels (for example Practice instead of Division) where you have not renamed them yourself.
- It suggests a few starter navigation layouts. They are offered in the navigation preset editor and are never assigned to anybody for you.
- It can draw a starter structure, which you can clear.
A workspace set up with one of the older industries moves to the preset that replaced it. Nothing is installed or removed by the move; the new extensions are offered, not added.
This applies where your workspace has the new organization tools switched on. Where they are off, everything works as it did before.
