Features · Across the workspace

The rota, built from who can actually work.

Say what each shift needs, and Shifts fills the schedule from the hours people said they can work, leaving out anyone on approved leave. A manager reviews the draft and publishes it; after that people pick up open shifts and swap with each other.

What it does

A schedule that starts from availability, not from a blank grid.

Availability, leave and the shape of each shift are already in the workspace. Shifts reads them, and the people involved stay in charge of every change.

01

Filled from availability

Each shift says how many people it needs and in which role. The fill places people from the hours they gave, skips anyone on approved leave, and is done by code, so the same inputs give the same draft.

02

A draft a manager publishes

Nobody is told about a shift until a manager publishes the schedule. Where two people fit equally, the AI draft breaks the tie and says why; it never overrides a rule you set.

03

Open shifts and swaps

An unfilled shift is offered to the people who can take it. A swap is an offer the other person accepts, with a manager's approval if you ask for one.

Nothing moves until the other person accepts.

04

Availability rounds with a deadline

Ask for next week's or next month's availability by a deadline in each person's own time zone, with reminders before it. A missed deadline uses the person's regular schedule.

05

Leave policies with balances

Accrual by tenure, a fixed allowance or unlimited with tracking, carryover and caps. Approving leave never moves anyone off a shift; a proposed cover is an offer the cover person accepts.

06

Dispatch crews to jobs

The Dispatch view puts people on jobs and warns before you confirm someone who lacks a certification the job needs, read from their Training record.

Questions

The ones people ask first.

Does Shifts run payroll or clock people in?
No. It builds and publishes the schedule and records swaps and leave. Hours worked and pay stay in your payroll system.
What happens to someone's shift when their leave is approved?
Nothing moves on its own. Approvers see who could cover, and a proposed cover becomes an offer that person accepts, so nobody finds a shift on their calendar they never agreed to.
