Disputes and Ava's review

When a client disputes a card payment with their bank: what Navalo does, and how Ava helps you answer.

Stripe tells Navalo when a client disputes a payment. Everyone who can bill gets a notice and an email, and the invoice and the client's record show Disputed with the amount and the reply-by date.

What changes while it is open

  • Reminders for that invoice stop.
  • Automatic payment for that client stops. Their plans keep billing by link until someone presses Resume autopay.
  • Finances shows the amount as On hold in disputes beside money owed, and Stripe's dispute fee as spend.

Ava's review

Press Review with Ava. Ava reads the invoice and its lines, a signed quote, the emails sent, payments, the client's payment history and earlier disputes, and compares them with the bank's reason. It answers likely accept, likely fight with a drafted evidence pack, or partly valid with the part that looks valid, and gives its reasons. Every fact and amount comes from Navalo's records; Ava only weighs them and writes.

A review uses your workspace's AI credits. If the credit check cannot run, the review does not run either.

You decide

  • Nothing goes to Stripe until you press a button. Ava recommends; you decide.
  • Submit evidence sends the evidence (Ava's draft, edited, or your own). Stripe takes evidence once, and it cannot be changed after.
  • Accept gives up the dispute: the money stays with the client and the loss is recorded in Finances.
  • When the bank decides, the dispute shows Won or Lost, and Finances follows.

Reviewing, sending evidence and accepting need billing rights and access to Finances.

Note

This applies where client billing is switched on for your workspace. Where it is off, invoices work as they did before.
