Moving from another billing tool
Bring subscriptions, clients and past invoices over without charging anyone twice.
Open the invoice settings and choose Move from another billing tool.
My clients already pay through this Stripe account
- Navalo lists the subscriptions in your connected Stripe account and takes over the ones it can bill exactly. Prices, renewal dates and saved cards stay as they are.
- Nothing is charged while you move. Each client's first Navalo charge is the renewal date you confirm.
- A subscription Navalo cannot bill exactly (a coupon, usage pricing, a trial, Stripe tax rates and so on) is listed as Not moved, with the reason. It keeps running in Stripe.
- Each moved client gets one email saying their billing has moved.
Another tool
Cards cannot move through Navalo. Your old processor can send saved cards to Stripe if you ask Stripe for a card data import; it usually takes a few weeks. Until then, or instead, send each client a one-time link to add a card.
Finishing
- Import past invoices as history (see Importing clients and invoices from a spreadsheet).
- Confirm that billing is turned off in your old tool, so no client is billed by both.
Plans
Moving subscriptions comes with the Business plan.
Note
This applies where client billing is switched on for your workspace. Where it is off, invoices work as they did before.
