Getting paid with Stripe
Connect your own Stripe account so clients pay by card or bank, then finish a short checklist.
Clients pay into your own Stripe account. Navalo is not a party to the payment: Stripe charges its normal fees, and refunds and disputes are between you, your client and Stripe.
Connecting
- 1Open Invoices, then the settings, and find Card payments.
- 2The workspace owner presses Connect Stripe and signs in to Stripe (or creates an account). Only the owner can connect or disconnect.
- 3Back in Navalo the card shows whether Stripe has finished checking your account. Card payments are off until it has; Check with Stripe again reads it now.
The checklist
Navalo sends every email to your clients. So that they do not get two of everything, turn these off in your Stripe dashboard, then press I've turned these off:
- Stripe's emails for invoices.
- Stripe's failed payment and card update emails.
- Stripe's payment receipts.
- Set Smart Retries to leave the subscription past due when retries run out.
Automatic payment cannot be turned on for any client until the checklist is confirmed.
Before you connect, or without Stripe
Invoices still go out with their page. The page shows how to pay you, and someone records the payment by hand when it arrives.
Disconnecting
Disconnect Stripe stops card payment and automatic payment for every client. Invoices and their history stay.
This applies where client billing is switched on for your workspace. Where it is off, invoices work as they did before.
