New invoice from a client, and invoice templates
Start an invoice from Finances, a CRM record or a project, already filled in for the client; save the lines you reuse as a template.
New invoice is on Finances > Invoices, on a CRM company or person's Billing panel and in a project's invoices. It starts from a client and fills in the name, the bill-to address, the tax number, who it is emailed to, the payment terms, the currency and the client's taxes. You can still change any of it on the draft.
Templates
- On any invoice, Save as template keeps its lines, terms and notes under a name.
- Each template is also an Organization file (Invoice template: name), so it can be found with your other files. Opening it starts a new invoice from it.
- A client can carry a template (Billing > Edit). A new invoice for that client starts from it.
- Templates are listed under Templates in the invoice settings, where you can delete one. Invoices already made from it do not change.
Note
This applies where client billing is switched on for your workspace. Where it is off, invoices work as they did before.
