Policies in the Handbook: versions, owners and reviews
Policies live in the Handbook now, with read receipts, versions and dates, an owner and a yearly review.
The Policy Library moved into the Handbook. Old links to policies still work and open the same policy there. Who can read a policy has not changed: a restricted policy is still shown only to the people, roles, teams or divisions it names.
Reading and confirming
- A policy shows its version, the date it took effect, its owner and its next review.
- Press I have read this to confirm you have read the current version.
- When a new version is published you are asked again, and the page says what changed with a Compare to the version before.
For admins
- Edit policy offers two ways to save: Publish as a new version (with a line saying what changed, and everyone is asked to read it again) or Save without a new version for a typo, which keeps everyone's confirmations.
- Owner and review: pick the owner and how often the policy is reviewed. The default is every 12 months.
- The owner is reminded 14 days before the review date and on the day, once each, by a notification and an email. Mark reviewed sets the next date.
- Who can see this, Remind people who have not read it and Version history are in the same ... menu. Under Read by, See who lists who has and has not confirmed.
- Policies from an organization above yours are read-only here.
